Terminal vs TradingView alerts
This page compares TradingView alerts with Terminal. Competitor facts were checked on October 11, 2026. The Terminal column was checked against the product on October 12, 2026. A cell marked Coming waits for a later release.
Information only. Not investment advice, and not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold. Past alerts record what the price did. They do not predict what it will do.
Who it fits
TradingView fits a person who already works on a chart. Alerts are a dialog on that chart. The same account covers stocks, funds, crypto, and other markets TradingView lists. Paid plans add indicator alerts, drawings, strategies, and, from Plus up, more than one condition on the same symbol.
The Terminal launch offer fits a person in the United States who watches a short list of coins and wants a condition in a sentence, a short note on what changed, and a stored price afterward. It does not place an order. It does not replace a charting platform.
Someone who lives in TradingView for drawings and indicators can keep that chart and still use a separate alert for the receipt. This page does not tell that person to switch.
Feature table
- Conditions. TradingView: Price alerts (cross, greater than, less than, and related price tests). Technical alerts on an indicator, drawing, strategy, or chart pattern, including a percent move inside a number of bars. Watchlist alerts: one condition applied to each symbol on a list. Multi-condition alerts are on from Plus up. The maximum number of conditions in one alert was not re-opened for this page.. Terminal launch offer: Price above, price below, percent move, volume spike, and unusual move. You can type a sentence. The builder restates the rule, and you save the fields. Coming: funding rate and open interest, after that feed is on.
- Delivery. TradingView: TradingView app notification, browser toast, email to the profile address, webhook, sound, and a plain-text option their introduction calls a way to send a text to your phone. Webhooks are off on Basic and on from Essential up.. Terminal launch offer: Telegram, a phone alert (a browser notification), and email. Telegram and phone alerts are aimed to leave sooner than email. That timing is a target. Coming: Discord. Coming on Pro: signed webhooks, and a post to your own channel.
- Explanations. TradingView: You write the message. The introduction does not describe a generated note about why the price moved.. Terminal launch offer: A why-note of about two lines. A model writes the sentences. Code fills every number from stored facts: the price path, volume against that coin's 20-day baseline, and the broader market move. Free includes 10 why-notes a month. Trader and Pro include a note on each alert unless notes are paused for cost. The alert still sends with the price if the note is missing.
- Outcome record. TradingView: An alert log of triggers. You can download the log as CSV. The server deletes a trigger older than 30 days, and it keeps only the latest 100 triggers for one alert. Cleanup runs daily at 21:00 UTC. A later price, 1 hour or 1 day after the trigger, was not described on the pages opened.. Terminal launch offer: Each alert stores the price when it fired, then the price 1 hour, 4 hours, 24 hours, and 7 days later. Until a later price is in, that slot says "not in yet." Free keeps receipts for 7 days. Trader and Pro keep them for 1 year. The receipt is a price record, not a rating. Coming: the rule's fire count and the median price change after 24 hours. Coming: a public Scoreboard of the same counts, with no account names.
- Noise controls. TradingView: Each alert has a notification schedule. The default is 24/7. Presets include weekdays, Monday to Friday 09:00 to 18:00, and a custom window, in the account time zone. The schedule blocks every channel. The trigger is still written to the log. A once-only alert that fires outside the window stays active and can notify once the window is open again, the next time the condition is met. Standard alerts expire. Basic shows 1 month. Essential and Plus show 2 months. Premium and Ultimate show an open-ended duration. An alert can still turn off if it is over a year old, has not fired for a year, and has not been edited for a year.. Terminal launch offer: A daily message limit, default 8, and you can set 1 to 30. A cooldown, default 1 hour on price, percent, and volume rules, and 4 hours on unusual move. Quiet hours, off by default, with a visible preset of 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM in your time zone. A morning brief at 8:00 AM. Grouping alerts into a brief is on Trader and Pro, and it is off until you turn it on. From the alert: Why, Snooze 1 hour, and Mute. Coming: Chart. A fire during quiet hours, snooze, or a used-up daily limit is still written to Today. Before you save, a chart of the last 30 days marks each time the rule would have fired.
- Price. TradingView: See the price table below. The page this check loaded was priced in euros. A US dollar render of the same URL was not loaded.. Terminal launch offer: Free is $0: 3 alerts, 10 coins, checks about every 5 minutes, 10 why-notes a month, a daily brief, Telegram, phone, and email, 7-day receipt history. No card. Trader is $15 a month or $144 a year: 50 alerts, 100 coins, checks about every minute, a why-note on each alert, 1-year receipts, digests, and a 14-day trial that needs a card. Pro is $29 a month or $288 a year: 200 alerts, 100 coins, checks about every minute at launch. Coming on Pro: checks about every 15 seconds, backtests, signed webhooks, and a post to one channel. These prices match the pricing page. Paid checkout stays off until the seller name and address are on the pricing page.

Price alerts and technical alerts have separate caps. Multi-condition alerts are off on Essential and on from Plus up. Second-based intervals are off on Essential and Plus, and on for Premium and Ultimate. Sales tax can be added. TradingView says only Ultimate is sold to users it classifies as professional. Paid plans show a free-trial button. The trial length was not printed on the euro page this check loaded.
Search extracts of the same pricing URL showed a dollar sign in front of 12.95. That dollar render was not loaded here. See Unverified.
Where TradingView goes further
TradingView is a chart product. The alert sits on the symbol, the drawing, or the script you already built.
- Technical alerts cover indicators, drawings, strategies, and chart patterns. The Terminal launch offer does not.
- Multi-condition alerts start on Plus. A watchlist alert, one condition across many symbols, starts on Premium (2) and is 15 on Ultimate.
- Alert caps on Premium and Ultimate are far above the Terminal launch caps of 3, 50, and 200.
- Webhooks are on from Essential. Signed webhooks on Terminal are Coming, on Pro.
- Each alert has its own notification schedule, including a window that still logs the trigger.
- The alert log exports to CSV.
- One subscription covers many markets, with chart layouts, replay, and broker trading on the plans that include them. Terminal does not place orders and does not connect an exchange login in order to trade.
- Open-ended alerts are on Premium and Ultimate. Terminal rules in the launch offer do not expire on a one-month or two-month clock. That difference is about expiry, not about which product is more accurate.
Where the Terminal launch offer is different
Terminal is a crypto alert with a note and a receipt. It is not a charting suite.
- You can type the condition in a sentence. The builder shows the rule it read, and saving uses those fields.
- The why-note uses numbers the product stored. It describes the move. It does not tell you what to do with the coin.
- Every alert is built to grow a receipt: the price 1 hour, 4 hours, 24 hours, and 7 days later. TradingView's public help describes a trigger log and a 30-day or 100-trigger deletion. It does not describe those later prices.
- Before you save, the last 30 days mark each time the rule would have fired.
- Quiet hours, a daily cap, a cooldown, and a morning brief are account settings. An unusual-move rule uses that coin's own recent movement, and the builder shows the percent that means today.
- Delivery in the launch offer starts with Telegram, then a phone alert, then email. Actions on the alert are Why, Snooze 1 hour, and Mute. Chart is Coming.
- Free is $0 for 3 alerts, with no card. Trader is $15 a month. Paid checkout stays off until the seller name and address are on the pricing page.
Checks run about every 5 minutes on Free and about every minute on Trader. Pro stays at about every minute until the 15-second release is on. That is a target for the check, not a promise that every message arrives inside a minute.

- A US dollar price. The page this check loaded displayed euros. The product record uses the same digits for the unlabeled cost, the EUR fields, and the GBP fields. A dollar sign in front of 12.95 appeared in search extracts of the pricing URL and was not confirmed by loading a US session.
- The length of the free trial behind the "Try free" button.
- The full list of trigger frequencies (once per bar, once per bar close, once per minute). The schedule article confirms a once-only mode. The other names were not opened for this page.
- Placeholder tokens inside the message, such as price and volume fields. The variable-value article was not opened.
- Whether a user can drag an alert line on the chart. The manage-alerts article was not opened.
- Any later price after a TradingView trigger. It was not found on the pages opened. A private screen could still show one.
- The plain-text channel. The introduction calls it a free way to text your phone. The separate article on how carriers handle that mail was not opened, so this page does not describe carrier caps.
