Notice and terms

Every JSON body from /v1 includes notice and terms. That includes errors. An event includes them too. A webhook template includes them only when the template uses the notice placeholder. You choose that text. A preset body is in the receiver's own format and carries neither.

The notice

notice is this sentence, from the product copy:

Terminal reports market events for conditions you set. It does not tell you to buy, sell, or hold, and it does not place trades.

The words are pending review. Software can show the string. It should not rewrite it into an instruction about a coin.

The terms

terms.version is 2026-10-draft. terms.url is the site origin plus /api-terms.

The API terms are a draft pending review. They are not in effect, and they are not published. terms.url names /api-terms. That address stays unpublished until the review is finished. Creating a key records that version. It does not bind you to this draft.

On every response

Example. These are not live prices.

GET /v1/account HTTP/1.1
Authorization: Bearer $TERMINAL_API_KEY

HTTP/1.1 200 OK
{
  "notice": "Terminal reports market events for conditions you set. It does not tell you to buy, sell, or hold, and it does not place trades.",
  "terms": {
    "version": "2026-10-draft",
    "url": "…"
  }
}

When the API is closed

While the API is closed, /v1 still answers. A valid key gets 503 not_available with reason channel_closed. An unknown key still gets 401 invalid_key.

Developer pages answer the normal not-found page while the API is closed, unless the visitor is signed in and the account is one Terminal has allowed to try the API. Those pages send noindex.
