Getting started

This page walks you from a new account to your first alert. Each step names the screen you see in the app.

Create your account

Open Create your account. Enter your name, your email and a password. Agree to the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy, then choose Create account. Continue with Google and Continue with GitHub appear when they are set up.

We send one confirmation link to your email. You can set up alerts before you confirm. Email alerts wait until you do.

How do I sign in? explains why the web address can change during sign-in.

Pick your coins

The first setup screen asks Which coins should we watch? Pick at least one coin from Suggested, or use Search coins.

Picking a coin does not turn on an alert by itself. You can change your coins later on the Watchlist.

Set your first alert

The next screen asks When should we message you? Pick one starting alert. Unusual move is selected unless you change it.

  • Unusual move: a message when a coin moves more than it usually does.
  • The percent-in-a-day card: a message when the price moves by the percent on the card within a day.
  • A price I type: a message when the price crosses a level you set.
  • Morning brief: one brief each morning at a time in your time zone.

Each card shows about how often it would have fired on your coins. That figure is a backtest of past prices, not a forecast. You can add more alerts after the test. Alerts and rules covers every alert type.

Choose where alerts arrive

The next screen asks Where should the alert go? Pick one of the ways it offers, such as phone alerts or email. Phone alerts arrive sooner than email.

Skip for now leaves alerts on Today until you choose where they go. Delivery covers every destination and its settings.

Send a test alert

The last setup screen is Send a test alert. Choose Send test alert. When the test arrives, choose Go to Today.

The test is not a market move. It shows that the path works. If it does not arrive, check the connection and choose Send again.

Read your first alert

Real alerts start when a coin meets your rule. Each one appears on Today, and at the destination you chose.

An alert gives the price, where the price came from, and the time. A short note describes the move, within your plan's notes for the month. A model writes the note's words, and every number in it comes from facts we stored.

Open the alert to see Price afterward. That list fills in the later prices as each time comes. A slot says not in yet until then. What is a receipt? explains it.

Terminal describes what the price did. It does not tell you to buy, sell, or hold.

Next steps

  • Alerts and rules: build more alerts, preview them, and keep the volume down.
  • Delivery: phone alerts, email, Discord, and what to check when an alert does not arrive.
  • Ask: ask about a price, an alert, or a receipt.
  • Words used in Terminal: short definitions of the words the app uses.
